About Us
Phil was born in Missouri (at the same hospital as my mom) in May 1973. He spent most of his growing up years in Sharon Springs, Kansas, and later, in Springfield, Missouri. I (Debby) was born in Cleveland, Ohio in June 1975. We moved to Columbus when I was three and I've lived here ever since.
Phil and I got married on August 8, 1998. We met while attending Ohio State University. Phil was there getting his law degree and I was getting my undergrad degree in English. We met at a campus Christian organization, affiliated with the Assemblies of God, called Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. We were best friends before we started dating in June of 1997. We were engaged in December and married the next August.
I was working as a technical writer until I got a 'new job' in February 2002, and Phil has his own private law practice here in the Columbus area. In June of 2001 we found out about a new member in our family. Natalie was born on February 9, 2002. She loves all things PURPLE, Irish dancing and Irish music, as well as french horn music by Mozart. (Yay!) In August 2004 we welcomed the first boy to be born into my matriarchal family in four generations. Ethan is a sweet little guy who loves music, coloring all over himself, frogs and other green things. And Natalie loves being a big sister. Really, she does. Most of the time. In November 2006 our little sunshine and Gerth family "caboose" (meaning, our last!) was born, little Gabriella Joy. We call her Ella. She's beautiful, with Natalie's blue eyes but otherwise looking very much like her brother!
